The manufacturer just sent me these photos of the press proof!

Once the dice get finished they'll be sending it my way, and once I inspect it and approve it, manufacturing will begin! From the photos everything looks brilliantly crisp and smooth with strong, vivid colors, so I have high expectations. I can't wait to see them borne out!

Announcing the writing and art contest winners!
over 8 years ago – Mon, Aug 15, 2016 at 10:40:49 PM

The winner of the art contest is Nicholas Small. Congratulations, Nick! I will be contacting you via email to start planning the art for Murder Most Foul.

There are four winners of the writing contest. The first is Zander Nash, with The Green Eyed Monster. The host, Taylor Bryant, is nice, accomplished, and all around perfect - too perfect. So perfect it sets your teeth on edge. Taylor is constantly upstaging you and making you downright miserable, and tonight you've decided to put an end to it, once and for all.

Next up is Joshua Thomas with the Black Gold Conspiracy. Mr. Coltrane is a corrupt industrialist, looking for patsies to pin his crimes on. But you're no sucker, and you aren't going down without a fight. A fight you are rather confident you'll win...

Then we've got George K with his untitled Mafia themed scenario. I'm really glad to get a Mafia themed one in here; I've been working on one and not gotten it to the point that I was satisfied with it, and now this one just lands in my lap fully formed!

Finally, we have Mitchell Gallinger with Die-In Fishing Resort. Marc Lemort is a shrewd businessman who is good at screwing people over and then covering it up and smooth-talking his way back into their good graces. He's gone too far this time, though, and you won't let him weasel his way out of his just desserts.

In other (non) news, I have not yet received the press proof. According to the manufacturer, it should be sent out tomorrow, though of course I have no control over that from here. When I receive it I will post a new update with photos.

The printers have approved the files, and printing has begun! I shall let you know when I get the proofs.

The files are at the printers!

They're checking them for errors now. In other news, I've gotten lots of writing contest entries, but no art contests! If you are a visual artist of any sort, professional or not, please do consider entering. Also, I am at my family reunion right now and have vvery little internet access, so shall likely not respond to things for a week.

Announcing the first Sixpence Games writing and art contest!
over 8 years ago – Fri, Jun 17, 2016 at 11:16:34 AM

Have you dreamed of being a professional game designer? Have you always wanted to be a published RPG writer? Wanted to see your art in a book in stores? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then Sixpence Games wants you!

In preparation for our first RPG, I’ve decided to do a contest. Two contests, really: one for art, and one for writing. I will select up to four winners in each category. Winners will get $50 and their written piece or artwork will be used in Murder Most Foul, the infinitely replayable murder mystery dinner party game! (and you’ll get free copies of the game, of course) .

To enter the art contest, simply send a link to your portfolio to [email protected], with “Art Contest” in the subject line. If you are selected as a winner, you will be paired with one of the winning pieces of writing and tasked to illustrate it.

To enter the writing contest is a bit more involved. You will need to submit a complete Murder Most Foul scenario. For more details on how the contests work, an outline of how a MMF scenario should look, an example scenario, and the rough draft of the rules, click here.
